A heat pump is the main source of heating for many Canterbury homes — and, in summer, the easiest way to keep living spaces cool. We supply, install, repair and maintain heat pump systems across Christchurch and the wider Canterbury area, working on all makes and models including Mitsubishi and Fujitsu.

Every installation begins with an assessment of the room or home: room size, insulation, sun exposure and how the space is used day to day. That assessment decides the capacity and placement of the system, so it heats and cools efficiently instead of working harder than it needs to. An undersized unit will run constantly on cold mornings; an oversized one costs more to buy and cycles wastefully. Getting the sizing right is the single most important part of the job.

We install wall-mounted split systems for single rooms and open-plan living areas, as well as ducted systems that warm or cool the whole home from ceiling or floor vents. For existing systems, we carry out fault-finding and repairs — from failed capacitors and sensors to refrigerant and airflow problems — and explain the options plainly before any work goes ahead.

Regular servicing keeps efficiency up and breakdowns down. Filters, coils, condensate drains and outdoor units all collect dust, debris and Canterbury pollen through the year, and a serviced system moves air freely and holds its rated output. If your heat pump ices heavily, blows lukewarm air, makes new noises or pushes power bills upward, those are all good reasons to have it looked at.

Arranging work is straightforward. Call or email with the address, the brand and approximate age of the system if you know them, and a description of what it is doing. We will arrange a visit at a time that suits, assess the system on site, and set out a clear written quote before anything proceeds. For rental properties and workplaces we are happy to coordinate access with tenants or site managers so the visit causes minimal disruption.
